Professional
I am a PhD candidate at the University of California, Santa Barbara working mostly in the fields of metaphysics and epistemology.
Much of my past work has concerned philosophy of mind and free will. Because I have so many friends that think I’m so wrong about so many things, I’ve recently turned my attention to the fascinating problem of disagreement.
Philosophy of religion is also an old favorite. Particularly the problem of evil, the problem of divine foreknowledge and free will, and questions involving religious pluralism. I also enjoy teaching ethics.
Personal
I am an amateur naturalist. (Not the philosophical sort. Rather in the tradition of Muir and Thoreau.) Here are a few of the birds I’ve identified in the Goleta area.
For good or ill, my son seems to have a bit of the philosopher in him.
